Texas Learning Academy
Welcome to the Texas Learning Academy, developed and hosted by the Texas Veterans Hall of Fame (TVHOF) Foundation.
The mission of the Foundation is to honor, preserve, and educate the public—especially current youth and future generations—on the stories, sacrifices and, accomplishment of Texas Veterans.
WHO WE ARE
The Texas Veterans Hall of Fame Foundation was founded in 2018 out the efforts to preserve the history of the 1.8 million Texans, who have served since the beginning of WWI. Texas proudly claims honorably 106 Medal of Honor recipients.
This recognition is done on an individual basis and as presented in our Triangle of Learning logo.
The Trail of Heroes courses and lessons were developed to meet the TVHOF mission.
The courses offered on the Learning Academy are unique and give students the opportunity to learn, experience a fun adventure, and become a part of history. The Texas Learning Academy gives students a better understanding and appreciation for the services and sacrifices of Texas men and women who so proudly served.
As our students progress through the courses, they will agree this academy is unique, and they will gain a learning experience like no other.
This course is written and controlled by many experts on the subjects and materials that make up the courses.
TVHOF has been recognized by the Texas Historical Commission.
These are self-paced courses. Here are just a few samples of the lessons taught in the courses.
*Texas History Up To and After Statehood.
*Texas Involvement in military wars.
*Texas Women Involved in the Military and War.
*Studies in Civics and Patriotism.
*Research and Studies of Family or Relative Veterans.
*Visits to other Museums.
Students will receive personal recognition with badges, certificates, and points as they progress through the courses. These points are converted into coupons, which in turn can be redeemed for merchandise, services, or discounts through our host and vendors agreements. Points that can be earned are described in the beginning of each module or lesson.
